McLaughlin Research Corporation provides systems
analysis and development services, including requirements
analysis, needs assessment, system specification preparation,
top-level and detailed design, programming, testing,
configuration management, and documentation; as well as
related services, including format and media conversion,
software builds and distribution, prototyping, and
system/network administration. Following are recent examples
of our IT accomplishments:
- Designed, configured, and
installed MS Window NT network incorporating primary and
backup domain controllers, MS exchange server (for e-mail),
and Cisco firewall software.
- Created and implemented data
management systems using various relational database (e.g.,
Oracle, Sybase, Access, etc.) and front-end (e.g.,
Powerbuilder) applications.
- Conducted on-site automated
information system (AIS) security reviews, and prepare
associated records/documentation, such as plans and policy
manuals, standard operating procedures, AIS security
accreditation statements, emergency action checklists, etc.
Evaluated network encryption systems and/or protected
distribution systems. Prepared Y2K Continuity of Operations
Plan for Physical Security.
- Designed software
architecture for Heavyweight Torpedo submarine fire control
party and Lightweight Torpedo shipboard/airborne operator
interactive courseware (ICW) training courses. Courses
developed using ICON Author software for delivery on CD-ROM.
Developed code to model simulations used in courses, as well
as code to present students with realistic quiz/test
scenarios.
- Provided programming support
for the upgrading and maintenance of the Product Assurance
Database Subsystem (PADS) of the Tomahawk Management
Information System (TOMIS), including graphical user
interface (GUI) programming for a Windows front-end using
Visual Basic programming language.
- Provided C language analysis
and programming support for the Submarine Training Master
Planning System (STMPS) II program.
